After last weeks final negotiations, Evergreen had to pay $200 million ( the original demand was for $916 millions ), to set Ever Given free, from the port that was held by the Suez Cannel Authorities. The ship is set to arrive in Rotterdam 110 days later than it was originally scheduled, with more than 18.000 shipping containers on board, almost 20.388 TEU. Ever Given would most likely be considered the largest accident that ever happened on the Suez Channel.
The shipping liner left Egyptian water Monday morning from Port Said heading to the destination port of Rotterdam. The ship, operated by Evergreen and part of the Ocean Alliance, would take nine days to complete the voyage to Rotterdam and then will continue to the other European destinations.
Right now Ever Given is going through the Mediterranean passing by Greece, going through International waters. You can check out Ever Given Location using the map below, thanks to Marinetraffic.com, just click on it
Let’s hope this time Ever given makes it to Rotterdam safe and without any other surprises. God speed !
